How? Triple Axel is on average 94 BP. Icicle Crash is only 80. Weavile runs Triple Axel now too.

Wouldn't Triple Axel be better than any other ice stab in that scenario? No other move in Froslass's arsenal gives it the option to not only potentially break subs, but can kill itself to a rocky helmet user and give you a free switch.

Froslass's best set is sash lead with spikes, taunt, and dbond/wisp/twave. You need a ghost move so that hatterene doesn't just duni on you, and shadow ball does that just as efficiently as poltergeist since neither can 1hko. The only difference is that shadow ball can't miss.

The utility from Icy Wind is better if it somehow survives anyways, and Shadow Ball hits more important pokemon, but those are almost always going to rarely be used, or else only used in specific matchups when your opponent does something weird.

I've been trying Frosslass with triple axel and poltergeist and so far it had worked. I know there are better pokemon for those moves, and more reliable sets for frosslass, but it actually feels great to use it compared to the usual ice beam/shadow ball.
By the way, sorry if it's a retarded question, but does each hit of triple axel has STAB applied?

How does Triple Axel even work? It says it does 20, 40, then 60. So 120 damage with ability to break subs? Does accuracy check for each hit, or just once? What are the odds of landing all three hits.l?

Yeah, accuracy checks for each hit. But on the bright side, even if one hit misses, it still does some damage, which is better than Focus Blast's 0.
