500+ encounters sounds pretty gud timewise vs. Masuda as it just requires bottle caps and mints to fix, unfortunately is limited to actual encounters. Never been a madman to shiny reset any mon, not even legendaries

First, the official pokemon company explaination of the lifetime encounter method AND no statement by them saying it was bugged. Second, the sufficient sample size after all this time shows the average number of encounters for a shiny is nowhere near as high as full odds with a 3% chance of MM odds.
