>>44075388Fairy honestly became my 3rd favorite type, right alongside Dark and Dragon. When it was revealed for XY, I was midly excited, but what really sold the type for me was during the arguments that Fairy also encompassed the ancient folklore and mythology of fae creatures, and it didn't have to be just pink cute blobs or tinkerbell analogues.
Mawile, Granbull, and Klefki were just the beginning, but once Gen 7 came around we started getting the folklore side of the Fairy type in Pokemon like the Tapus and Mimikyu. Now the cool and interesting potential of the Fairy type is even more expanded on with Gen 8 and the introduction of the Grimmsnarl and Hatterene lines, aswell as having another major Fairy legend in Zacian.
Overall, while the pink and cutesy stuff still make up the majority of the Fairy type motif, I'm glad it didn't take long for the designers to realize the potential for concepts and designs the type possessed and quickly took advantage of it.
Back on topic, I'd like to see a Fairy/Fighting Centuar.
