(yeah I'm like 90% sure they're new (or slightly tweaked.) Compare stuff like Blastoise's rear toe, Venusaur's upper lip, and the angles in Pikachu's tail.)

Personally, I’m more concerned about the battle animations. I don’t have the gif on me, but for example, Lucario actually does unique animations for each of his attacks, even KICKING when doing the kick animation instead of just thrusting his arm forward like in the mainline games.
