I like the general theme of good sportsmanship in the newer games, especially gen 8. I feel like that is the real thing that sets the Pokémon world apart.
/vp/ always whines abourmt how they want asshole rivals back, but there is just something heart warming about seeing the league battles ending with a handshake.

I'm on the same boat, but what I like especially about this is discovering the pokemon for myself. I remember playing through BW blind and just being amazed at every new pokemon I encountered, because it was all brand new to me. I remember being amazed the most at Druddigon, because it looked so draconic.
