It would be better... Let us say Mark made X and a group of people like X. Now we have Joe who is making Y and he says Y is related to X, however only surface level traits of X are in Y. Fans of X feel betrayed and will inevitably come into conflict with a hypothetical group that likes Y. Where as if Y was it's own thing, there is no conflict, and people who like X and Y can coexist.
That isn't even the crux of the issue though as we zoophiles avoid /trash/, a red board, because we hate anthro art. Those who run a red board should not step on ours toes up here on our refugee blue board.
