Crown Tundra

No.44093894 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Crown Tundra DLC release on November 18th. It is overrall bigger than Isle of Armor in terms of content, but not by much.

It starts with a call from Sonia asking you to help her with a research on an elusive Pokémon roaming the fields of the southernmost part of Galar and bringing chaos on its path.
The main quest of the DLC is to track down the legendary "crowned roamer" via other mini quests.
Once you complete all six mini quests, you'll be greeted by a "broken" Calyrex inside an abandoned castle covered in vines. After a couple of cutscenes, you'll find out Calyrex was roaming the Crown Tundra in search of his steed. When you choose to help Calyrex find his steed, he'll join your party willingly and you'll get to play a minigame to select a "pompous enough" Pokéball for it.
The last main quest of Crown Tundra is to search the version exclusive Calyrex steeds. They are both rocking horses. One is a broken and rusty rocking horse made out of cooper, exclusive to Sword. The other is a white wooden horse with a mane of dead flowers, exclusive to Shield.
After reuniting Calyrex and his steed, Calyrex will gift you the Smelly Blanket, an item that'll enable you to fuse Calyrex and one of the horses into Calyrex's Unwavering forme.

Secondary quests for the Crown Tundra are the research for the Regis with Peony and his niece. Once you get all 6 regis, you'll be able to summon Regigigas. Regieleki and Regidrago are not version exclusives. There is a third Regi that has not been revealed yet and represents the contemporary era and is Psychic-type.

Lastly, when you beat the main Calyrex story, you'll gain access to Max Dungeons, which have a chance at having max raid battles with legendary Pokémon. All legendary Pokémon are shiny locked.

Next games on the franchise are not Diamond and Pearl remakes nor brand new main series games and were planned to late 2021, but are probably getting delayed to 2022.
