I've commented in a couple of threads, but maybe I should make my own.

Honestly since the beginning I have loved the monsters but hated the world and was disappointed by the games.

A few years before yugioh hit the states, but I wished it was like that

Thing is I never wanted to escape and pretend to be in the world I just wanted an interesting story
with interesting gameplay and scenarios.


All of them seemed endearing, but the humans seemed flat as boards and fans were making up headcannnon to make them interesting.

Also I hated that they were depicited as the animals of the world, I wish it was similiar to mystery dungeon where it was a snork/smurf/tmnt/carebear kinda situation where it was a gaggle of monsters living in a town going on adventures and saving dudes.
Or at the very least like "dai no daibouken" where it was both monster and human warriors doing shit.

Truth be told I remember wishing it was like the mystery dungeon world years before it was released.


I eventually just gave up on the series for things that were like the anime and both manga.
Anyone else feel this way about the series?
