The idea that XY was on the same level as Ruby/Sapphire or DP (which are awful too) is just an insult to those games, and makes me wonder if people here are just so braindead they can't form a proper opinion without a 3rd version

Remember how fucking insane the hype was? While yeah people were shitflinging about how disappointing ORAS was at the time, the wait for Z felt like the last time there was actual hope in the fanbase. We were pretty naive, but we all genuinely thought the next "one" was coming.

Literally no one is saying that. But to pretend XY couldn't have been salvaged is pretty stupid. XY's main problems lied in the world not being interesting and the game being balanced towards the exp share. A Z could've fixed both of those things.

The dealbreakers for gen 6 wasn't even listed here, the shitty region design and, most of all, EXP SHARE is what truly put the nail in the coffin of pokemon games. Now its just mash a to win simulator with 0 exploration

The story wasn’t any worse than any other pokemon game
It’s one of the last games to have a national dex
Megas are fine, but more needed to be given to shitmons
Fairy type was to nerf dragon type and make poison more useful
Lysander is memorable
The 3D models are fine
Silver was the last non friendly rival
