Ex GameFreak employee here. Next main series games will be announced in December, 2 months after Crown Tundra. Pokémon Boy and Pokémon Girl. The player cannot choose their gender, and will be stuck during the story as male in Pokémon Boy, and female in Pokémon Girl. All Pokémon encountered in the main story will match the game's gender, too, as do all npcs. The story revolves around the concept of there existing only one gender. Some force has changed the world such that the other gender no longer exists, and erased everyone's memories of there ever having been a different world. The evil team leader however, Team Fem (Boy exclusive), or Team Masc (Girl exclusive), is of the opposite gender, with their plan revolving around trying to monopolize (Pokémon) breeding. The region will be based of Norway, making the the map even more linear than Galar. (It's literally a line, guys). The camera control from the wild area will be back again though. The starters are based a ferret, a calf, and a moose. The box legendaries are an eastern dragon for Girl, and a European dragon for Boy. At the end of the story, once the issue is resolved, you can rechoose your gender, and the dragon will transform you. And no, there won't be a third version Pokémon Trans. DLC was already planned, though I don't know what would be in it.
