By this logic it adds absolutely nothing to the Pokemon aside from some characterization that is completely unnecessary considering it wasn't even in the games to begin with.
It's a wasted expenditure, with the only arguments for its existing being to sell more games(it's already one of the best, if not the bets selling game in the franchise) or sell merch, which this show would barely do in the first place.
If it was about costs and running a business, then Twilight Wings would never exist in the first place.
