On top of that including hm dive in gen 5 had a lot of people convinced gen 3 remakes would occur within the same generation. There's references to other Pokemon games in every generation. When a remake is confirmed, everyone jumps on these references and suggest it was foreshadowing.
As a result, the only legit foreshadowing I see in the games is the strange souvenir in gen 6 and the Galar maps in Kanto.
