>>44120384I always really liked the idea of a game where you play as a young professor oak before the days of the pokedex and the focus would be on literally going out and learning new things about the pokemon and writing them down on paper instead of logging it into the pokedex. But like, you'd ACTUALLY be learning these things, you don't just catch the pokemon and an entry is auto logged, you have to actually raise the pokemon, and do different stuff with each of them to incrementally learn new things about them. Kanto would be structured a little differently and you wouldn't actually challenge gyms or anything, the game is 100% catching and exploring and raising, with the bulk of the content being doing various side missions likely with each pokemon having 1 side mission tailored to them so you have to actually catch them all to complete the objective.
Neat side touches would be things like mewtwo not existing yet, and maybe there being this story thread linking each side mission together where you're always finding clues to the most elusive of all the pokemon, the one that keeps getting away: mew.
Honestly this is all off the top of my head but the more I say it the more I really like it
