-plat sits at my list's top, if only due to nostalgia.
that and i action replayed my way through the entire thing as a kid so it was nothing but a fuckin joyride. the lore was literally godlike and fueled my desire to keep exploring the region for anything extra related to it. i need to play it again legitimately cause i gave my first cart away to my second cousin
-gen v was fine, but really a swerve considering that plat was my first title. good gameplay, good towns, good plot, had a lot of fun with em. but they were always missing something i couldn't pin, i'm guessing it was gen iv's degree of legendary lore
-i'll admit that i loved x and y. really beautiful environments, trainer customization was great, and 3d in a main title really breathed life into the series if you ask me, especially with amie. i got nothing glaringly bad to say about em.
-hoenn remakes were really kooky for me. having never played the originals, the entire layout of the region felt just plain nuts; progression was all over the place, with many routes playing cat's cradle to get to the next town. secret bases were cool though, as well as many of the sites like meteor falls.
-gen 7 was just plain blehhh. nothing sticks out, and the hawaiian shit felt way too forced. glad to be done with it, although the lore threads back in 2016 were a fuckin delight to be a part of, even if "it all comes together" ended up being a dud
currently waiting on my boy to get added to swsh before i buy either
