Neither of those things exist in the anime.

Pokemon are living creatures, you can't just beam new moves into/out of their heads, you have to teach them how to use those moves by training them.

Even if Pokémon in the anime can only know four moves, which is HIGHLY inconsistent over the course of the anime and just depends on the writer's horoscope reading that day, it isn't the same battle. Leon could just have taught his Charizard new moves in preperation for the battle, especially if you use the excuse of "his Charizard knew them before, so it was a bit easier to reteach him the moves"

Doesn't ash teach pikachu thunderbolt vis TM on the show? I know most of you guys are zoomers, but in one of the earlier episodes, he hooks pikachu up to a machine that runs on windmill energy or something and it helps him learn thunderbolt for a battle.

Can't remember the exact episode though.

Back then, they didn't know Pokemon would be a multibillion dollar franchise. Now it is, and the rules are now more more strict. Nothing from Gen 4 onwards contradicts any of these rules.

Its the episode where Ash fights Brock, gets his ass kicked, them Brock's dad hooks Pikachu up to a machine at a hydroelectric plant where ash has to run on some treadmill or something to generate the power needed to strengthen pikachu. Gen 4 is the first gen to mention pokemon shitting though. Gen 5 mentions it too with Darumaka, and it's brought up again in Gen 7 to explain Guzzlord as the exception to the rule.

Eating Pokemon has been mentioned in Gen 4 with the Veilstone Myth. Pokefucking too. Gen 5 outright says Basculin's meat is delicious, and as of Gen 6 everyone eats Slowpoke tails. In Gen 8 the same thing is said of Barraskewda meat.

They do play the games, and Game Freak supervises the anime to make sure it stays consistent, and provides with them reference material to draw and animate stuff with. They need that stuff to be able to draw Pokemon from different angles and know how to animate them.

toriyama isn't even the only case, i know of a few more.
the rules about this are pretty simple. if they say something is canon it is canon until stated otherwise in the future. so basically the most recent shit they pull out of its ass is always canon. if it conflicts with an old canon the older one is obsolete.

It being permanent was already debunked by Goku and Vegito unfusing inside of Buu. In-universe, the only explanation we got for that was Goku guessing it had something to do with Buu's body. Potara lasting one hour for non-Kais is a better explanation than "idk bad air?"

The only new thing there was "living a peaceful life increases your potential to become a Super Saiyan". It being hereditable was well-established.

I think it was also implied that it's harder to unlock the Super Saiyan transformation if you have a tail, because your potential goes towards the Oozaru form instead. Or maybe the reverse, that Super Saiyan potential inhibits tail growth because you don't need the Oozaru form any more.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot tried to explain this by saying that a Saiyan's tail stops growing back if their human form becomes stronger than their Great Ape form.

But that makes no sense either because Great Ape is a 10x multiplier. Whatever your base power level is, your Great Ape form will always be 10 times stronger than that. It only becomes obsolete when Super Saiyan is unlocked since Super Saiyan's multiplier is bigger.

Potara Fusion was supposed to be stronger, but they retconned that too in the new Broly movie; Gogeta and Vegito are the same power-wise, the only difference is that Vegito lasts longer (one hour vs thirty minutes)

The limit was place on the anime after a while. Most notably Ash's Pikachu hasn't used Volt Tackle since it leaned Electro Ball and hasn't used Electro Ball since it learned Electro Web. And this is Pikachu, if any Pokémon was going to regularly break this rule it would be the mascot of the franchise, especially with Volt Tackle which is the signature move of the Pikachu line.

Ash's Rowlet learned Seed Bomb off its Toucannon parent and Trumbeak/Pikipek's displays of Bullet Seed, his Litten was being mentored in how to use Fire Fang by a Stoutland displaying the attack and Ash has taught Torracat Flame Charge (a TM) by training to give it a boost in its power and Lycanroc's displays of the movements needed to utilise Flame Charge. It's no stretch to assume trainers in the anime also teach their pokémon those types of moves by similar methods, if they wanted/needed to. As always, OP is an autistic retard seething the anime doesn't follow her headcanon.

They established that the Fusion Dance works better if you fuse while transformed, but the Potara Earrings work better if you fuse while in base form. Basically a Potara fusion can't de-transform properly, so if you drop out of Super Saiyan your body gets mangled.

They still hold to the rules, they DO only have 4 moves, but they're able to access the Max move versions at a cost of being restricted to moving once in the round, vs twice while using regular moves.

I agree with your post but this didn’t happen. Torracat learned Flame Charge as soon as it evolved. The only a Pokémon on Ash’s Alola team that didn’t learn new moves randomly was Rowlet because of Seed Bomb and Subtitute, and even then it still learned Brave Bird and Razor Leaf randomly
