Foresight makes the target able to be hit by ALL Pokemon's Normal moves not just the user. Learned this from Pokemon XD

That’s not obscure at all. Foresight is inflicted on the opponent, not a buff to the user. That’s why it says “x has been identified!” and not “y can identify x!”

Semi unrelated but still pretty awesome since we're talking about Gale of Darkness, but after over a decade of my GoD save file sitting on a memory card, I finally modded my Wii with Nintendont and will be getting an official Link Cable to save my bros today. So I'll turn this into a little PSA/tidbit about link cables. If you own an official GameCube to GBA link cable, a Wii and a memory card you can still access all of your games with a little know how and homebrewing. If you have save data of Colosseum or GoD, I highly recommend looking into doing this for rare ribbons or just for fun.

In gen 2, there was an item called the Polkadot Bow that could only be obtained by trading a Jigglypuff from gen 1. Wigglytuff doesn't work.

If your Pokemon is waiting to make its move in a Double Battle mid-turn, and levels up and learns a new move before acting, even if you replace the move it is about to use, it will still use the old move.

My Toxtricity levelled up in a doubles and I replaced Discharge (which it was about to use) with Overdrive. When its move came, it still used Discharge, and the turn after that, no PP had been subtracted from Overdrive.

Professor Juniper's father will at one point mention that you've seen the Pokemon Klink, which in normal gameplay you would've definitely had at least registered as "Seen" in the Pokedex due to it being used by N in his mandatory battle in Chargestone Cave. If you somehow managed to exploit/hack/glitch your way around that N battle, or manage to somehow unregister Klink from your dex, he'll actually comment that you haven't seen one yet.

If you stand in the same tile Mystery Gift NPCs spawn in in XY or ORAS, save and exit the game, redeem the mystery gift, then load back in, the NPC will actually spawn one tile to the left instead. The special cutscene for the Diance event follows the same rules.

Meowth wasn't in a single regional dex that wasn't a previously visited region from gen 2 onwards until gen 7. Meaning it wasn't in the Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, or Kalos regionals.

idk how obscure this is but in the offical english version of the pokemon adventures manga Green's tits are huge for no reason for a page or two, and then normal sized the next. This is because they cut out her hiding the balls for a jiggly puff and a clefable that later expslode out her dress.

What's even weirder is, with the exception of Kalos, you can still obtain Meowth in all those regions without transfer. It's an in-game trade in Emerald, you can catch it in the Trophy Garden in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, Persian can be caught on a mirage island in ORAS, and its one of Yancy's trades in Black and White 2 (Thought ONLY Yancy can trade it, so you need to be male to obtain it normally there)

In Diamond and Pearl, it's possible to get softlocked (without trading) in Hearthome City if your party isn't strong enough. Your rival ambushes you for a battle on the path to the only exits, and there's no way to actually grind XP in Hearthome.

Game Freak actually realized this and moved the location of the rival battle to a slightly different location to allow you to go back to the previous route to grind if you somehow managed to be too weak.

In XY there is an NPC in Cyllage City that only shows up if you have the OPPOSITE first stage fossil Mon to the one you picked in your party. He gives you a Hard Stone.

They changed the location of the battle for Platinum, and even added trainers who appear on random weekdays in the Pokecenter to boot.

Speaking of Cyllage, you can trade for a Steelix there named Thumper, which is actually an illegal nickname due it containing the word Hump. Meaning that is the ONLY way to obtain a Pokemon with that nickname.

No it doesn't. As already mentioned in the thread, crits in Gen I are based on the Pokemon's base Speed. If the Pokemon's base Speed is 64 or higher, it has a "100%" chance of landing a critical hit with increased crit ratio moves. It's of course worth noting that "100%" in Gen I actually means 255/256 aka 99.6%, which in practice is pretty much 100% but it's still going to fail that 0.4% of the time. This means that Parasect for example has a 46.9% chance of landing a crit with Slash due to its bad Speed stat. Meanwhile most other Pokemon like Victreebel, Sandslash, Venusaur, Persian, Charizard and Dugtrio could keep clicking Razor Leaf or Slash and land a crit essentially every single time.

Due to programming errors some of the apricorn balls don't work the way they were supposed to in the original Gold, Silver and Crystal.
Notably the Moon Ball just completely doesn't work at all due to a typo in the item ID that makes it check for Pokemon that evolve with a Burn Heal instead of a Moon Stone

The entire "Rainbow Rocket" post-game storyline in Ultra Sun and Moon actually originates from the Battle Agency. Originally, the past game villains were just supposed to appear there, similar to how Cynthia and Wally do.

One of the designers felt they could actually put in a story based on them appearing, so they were given their own scenario instead.
