In some ways they are downgrade to SM/USUM (the dexcut and forced EXP share for example), but in other ways, they are improvements over SM/USUM (IoA being less linear than Alola's main campaign, some QoL like Nature Mints and EXP Candies). LGPE however are the worst games in the franchise
