>>44137203>That's the point though? It's based on soccer players. It shouldn't literally look like an actual human soccer player though. How the fuck would that have evolved in the wild? It's as dumb as Incineroar looking like a fucking Wrestler the moment it evolves from Torracat complete with a Wrestling Belt, it just makes no god damn sense.
Cinderace especially just looks like a dude in a costume, which rings very true of many of the starters from later gens. There's such a thing as subtly, which would've really benefitted many of the newer pokemon. Cinderace just feels like a generic shitty anime character from a sports anime starring animals. Had it been more subtle, maybe blended it's themes together, it wouldn't be so fucking divisive. A lot of nu-mons could really benefit from this, but Cinderace is one of the biggest offenders which is why I'm presenting that argument here.
You can do a rabbit monster well, the idea behind Cinderace wasn't dead on arrival. I just think the final execution is fucking heinous and one of the biggest eyesores in the entire franchise with how bland and unsubtle it is.
Inteleon is worse, though, because it doesn't even have a consistent theme and spazzes all over the place without an identity until the mediocre basilisk lizard that it eventually becomes; complete with an even more unsubtle design and even worse proportions. I really hate Cinderace and his entire line, but at least they had a consistent identity and inspiration.
