SM thanks to simplified designs, more fluid way of animating (more bends and smears and other transformations) and doubled number of drawings per episode (earlier used only during more battle-intense episodes of XY) allowed animators to create more live, fluid and actualy easier to make animation. Add to that one, single director for entire show, which is unusual for this kind projekt but allows for consistency in key frames and you know, direction of the animation which is very good - i remember shows jumping in quality and style in the middle of episode because of 2 directors making one episode but here you got one person week by week working on the same huge project.
