You just added a personal amendment to your ruleset, "I'm allowed 1 Death Mulligan". You may wish to give yourself even a little more leeway, "I'm allowed 1 Death Mulligan per Pokemon", etc. Honestly with how some games are structured, such a rule would almost be necessary to be able to play without strict research of opponent movesets and extremely careful grinding. Thus letting you play more of the game semi-blind and have a more organic experience rather than one where you cant afford to give hidden information, which includes critical hits, even a single opportunity to take out a favorite Mon. Now, it's still a Nuzlocke, the Death counter is intentional to force you to play carefully and utilize Pokemon you otherwise wouldn't, but I think one mulligan is well within the spirit of the challenge.
