Gen 7 did not have fully modeled battle backgrounds in all locations tho. They had that one generic cave and jungle that they used alot, not to mention their battle backgrounds were often less detailed and still a bit "abstract" thus easier to make

Why not just have it take place on the field
You can load the battle assets, sure, but this would completely cut the need for backgrounds or the fucking void

that's what happened in sm too, a sudowoodo literally says "lies" in the eng translation while in the original it was just saying part of its name, "uso" lmao
thats probably why a lot of pokemon in sm/usum seem to talk, lazy translations

That's not the reason he says bear bear, he says it because in development his name was going to be Bearmor, but they changed mine yet forgot to fix the already translated dialogue.

It's the same reason Nebby's name is clearly a nickname for something that would have "Nebula"in it as does it's cries yet it ended up called Cosmog.
