Imho the best rival in all of the games. Not an edgelord like Silver and Gladios, but not an overly-friendly bitch like May/Brendan or the gen 6 group. He's also the closest rival to Gary/Blue in terms of personality.

He's very obnoxious. Especially in Platinum where you literally take a single step in the hame and he interrupts you. I hate him, would be the worst rival if shit like Hop and the entire XY crowd didn't exist.

All those things could've easily been done by any other important character if GF chose to do so. As I said earlier, Cynthia managed to establish herself as a good character by having a memorable design and a memorable champion battle, something which actually took effort to do and which Leon could only dream to achieve.
