Besides speed and DP's weaker pokemon distribution (which only really applies to fire types) I don't got any. Sinnoh's fine.
And does shit generation include HGSS? I hope not. HGSS is solid.

Yes, but they aren't wearing swimsuits. The summer attire is a good compromise that works for the tropical areas and the other areas areas. It's the same for sinnoh. They aren't wearing ski gear because that would make no sense for the caves, swamps, beaches, ect.

That said, it would have been great if we different outfits for snowpoint.

You're trying too hard mate. DPPT is slow and the distribution is bad for DP only, that's true, but I disagree with everything else. HGSS vs GSC is just a matter of aesthetics, both games look fine. As for pokemon distribution, HGSS is far ahead of GSC just from the safari zone alone, which is probably the best in the series due to all of the customization. Have you even played Crystal recently? I curious which safari zone you think is better. Also, the level curve is fine.
Following pokemon is not pointless, it's a great feature. It really helps for immersion and was a great leap for interactions with pokemon. It's a damn shame it was dropped in gen 5, but 6 did try to redeem it with Amie.
Gen 4's sprites are excellent. Battle sprites are just behind Gen 2. 2 > 4 > 1 > 5 > 3

Canadian here, I can confirm short skirts when there's a foot of snow on the ground is very common. Just more reasons that Kinnoh's Platinum is the ultimate pokemon game.
