What was the hardest battle you had in a Pokemon game?

For me it was definitely the Ultra Necrozma battle in USUM. Took me multiple tries to beat. What was yours?

I only played four main games, and only completed two, so i guess i generally suck, but the hardest for me was champ Steven in ORAS, i got there a fair bit underleveled (5-10 levels lower) and even though i had a traded in Aegislash as my ace it took me probably around ten tries to get him.

(but if you count side games then the hardest was Articuno in PMD:Blue, i lost count on tries and only wished for the sweet relief of death)

Guzma's team is not hard to beat but my team in SM happened to be very weak to flying so Guzma and Kahili both destroyed me. Had to pray to the RNG gods.

I remember only being able to get through this fight because I had Hail to KO Shedinja. I was mostly just using the most recent Shadow mons and purifying as I got them on my first playthrough, so I just didn't have anything else to hit it by chance.

Necrozma wasn't even hard if you catched a Zorua in literally the first route of the game.

Went completely blind playing USUM, reached Necrozma and was like 10 levels below, yet I could beat him using Zoroark's Foul Play and the rest of the team when it was defeated.

Cynthia on the other hand, THAT was a diifcult one. Also, she opened with fucking Spiritomb, which at the time hadn't any weakness and if you played normally, it would be the first time you see it.

Anon, i think you're missing the point. When you are prepared or have countering pokemon ANY battle is easy.
The thread is for difficult battles, that were difficult for one reason or another

Ultra Necrozma although it might've just been type mismatch since 5/6 of my team was weak to its attacks some with x4 weaknesses and the only one that wasn't was Starmie which isn't exactly a tank. With confidence I can say that aside from Ultra Necrozma the hardest would be Cynthia, her team is very well rounded and Garchomp can pretty well deal with a lot of Pokemon in spite of its quad weakness. I think her team was a bit harder in DP partly because her Milotic was one of the higher levelled Pokemon on her team making it much more dangerous whereas in Pt Togekiss got the higher level and Togekiss isn't much of a threat.

Oh fuck that reminds me, the Palkia fight in PMD2 can be a real pain to get through since you're stuck in that dungeon iirc until you defeat Palkia. Amp Plains' fight with the Luxray Tribe is also pretty hard especially if you or your partner are Water-Types and Darkrai's fight although not nearly as difficult can be a pain because of the deadweight that is Cresselia.

The Pt version was harder imo since it was a full six-v-six battle and stuff like the Gligar, Driflim and Lickitung can be pretty brutal. Also speaking of DPPt's Double Battles that Ace Duo on Route 210 in the Foggy area with the Gyarados and Raichu, those two always gave me a run for my money.
