>>44160181>>44160181>gen 1 main games: 46.02 million sold>gen 2 main games: 29.49 million sold>gen 3 main games: 23.28 million sold>gen 4 main games: 25.27 million sold>gen 5 main games: 24.16 million sold>gen 6 main games: 16.45 million sold>gen 7 main games: 24.95 million sold>gen 8 main games: 17.37 million soldthis shit has stabilized at ~25 million copies sold for games with third versions and ~17 million copies sold for generations with no third version. they have ZERO drive or need to make the games actually good because y'all fuckers will buy it regardless. SwSh got torn to shreds by users on metacritic and it didn't fuckin' matter, it sold like hotcakes. on main game sales ALONE, they have been dealing $1.4 million in sales DAILY for over 20 years. that's so much money it's retarded. with Go revenue, merch revenue, and spin-offs, they're fuckin' flush with cash. based on the above, it's not surprising that the main games are mediocre, but it IS disappointing that they haven't chosen to REALLY invest in them. If fuckin' Todd can spend $100 million to make Skyrim, the Pokémon people could abso-fuckin'-lutely drop $200 million on a main series game to revolutionalize the franchise, revolutionalize the industry, and blow our fuckin' minds - and the loss they take would be nothing compared to their cash pile and the goodwill they'd get from fans. They'll NEVER do this though, because the Pokémon people are not your friends and do not care about you - they are a business and will continue to be stingy and continue to steadily make money the easy way. that Pokémon game of your dreams? it's never going to happen. you'll just buy our shitty games anyway. y'all are strapped in to main-series mediocrity forever. at least Go is persistent, refreshing, continuously updated, and free.
