It's pretty tough but it is beatable. With difficult games nuzlockes at least for me rely on the mons I didn't think would put in the effort

A pretty difficult time until you're past Fantina. After that it's pretty smooth sailing.
Also there's one intentional somewhat unwinnable battle near the middle, so be prepared to lose a team or make an exception in the rules.

You fight Aaron early, I believe around Heathome. It's not exactly unwinnable I suppose, but his team is higher level than other trainers around there and it's a lot more competitive-y.
Pic related is his team. I think he also has a Heracross that the documentation might have left out, but I don't remember.

Or is the nuzlocke rule that if you faint it's over? Don't remember.

Either way it gets easier after Fantina (who also sucks) since there's an NPC that lets you grind your pokemon and EV train.
