Versus all the shit made for singles? You're talking about a drop in the bucket bro. It's still a meme and the fact that 99% of the story in core games don't use double battles is proof of that. Only a very small minority of players actually play doubles formats online as well.

Gamefreak has absorbed the parts of Genius Sonority involved with making the Colosseum games and has full ownership of them retard. If they wanted to send us back to Orre there is NOTHING stopping them.

Tbh that's not a very high bar. I own a first gen PS3 and I think I've played maybe two PS3 games I'd genuinely call "good". The system was a $600 paperweight as far as I'm concerned.

They didn't bother to support Triple/Rotation Battles. There was no online mode for either of them, and Triple Battles only showed up twice in the anime, while Rotation Battles never showed up at all.

That's fucking retarded. A minority in a franchise this big is still millions of people. Most players don't even finish a game that's true of the vast majority of games. Having more stuff to do makes the game feel more polished and gives the player a sense of freedom.

The playerbase is already distributed between singles ranked, doubles ranked, casual singles, casual ranked, link singles, link doubles, link multis. If you had more formats even it would likely take even longer to find people online to battle.
