As long as it's fighting a Special Attacker it will win, they just can't hurt it. Type advantages don't even matter because I can destroy any water type with it as long as it's a special attacker. Especially after one or two mystical fires, they just can't hurt it after the first one. Then with the Special Attack investment on a base 95, as well as just the flat 130 attack stat, it's got enough type coverage that it's able to hit a good amount of Pokemon at least decently hard with something. Also totally shuts down any special attacking fairy type as well.
Nobody expects a Flareon to have Steel, Fighting, and Ground coverage. I can also hit whichever defensive stat is weaker. I can also boost attack, defense, or special attack while dynamaxed. And a Flash Fire boost + Sunlight can make Mystical Fire hit absurdly hard if I am able to set that up.
