You're not meant to farm PP Maxes.

Imo it should be a Battle Tower reward.

Since you can roid your Pokemon in Sword/Shield it won't be long until you can buy PP Ups on Marts in the next generation.

If you do restricted sparring you can get around 80 bp per type, meaning you can buy 8 pp ups per in one of the bp stores. I don't think you can buy pp maxes

The Cram-o-matic gives guaranteed PP-UPs if you know how to use it. In general though it's usually not a problem to not max out the PPs of most moves. Specially in cart Doubles.

Just wondertrade a bunch until you have at least 100 to 150 Pokémon with different OT’s, then play the Loto-ID at the PC - you’ll be 99% guaranteed a PP-Up, occasionally also a PP-Max, can also use the date-skip trick to play Loto-ID continuously and farm them. That’s how I got 40+ PP-Ups and 10 PP-Max in no time
