Also the cut mons are available to you even if you didn't buy either one of the the expansions. The point is the same people who people who spent their money on this app also spent money on the DLC and are bitching about the price point when they argue it should be free.

You can trade with someone who bought the expansion pass. There's no purchase required to get any of the new mons.

This existed before XY and people at the time were curious to see a 3D model pokedex covering gens 1-5. Seems worthless now, but it was a intriguing app back then.

I like it. I used it as a reference for drawing. It's better than the ingame Pokédex models, but unfortunately it didn't get updated with the latest gens.

It was an app released on the eshop back in 2012 for the 3DS. It basically served as guide for every Pokémon that was in Black 2 and White 2, it had capture locations, evolution methods, level up moves, egg moves, etc.

You have to remember that 8 years ago most of the people here were probably still teens or preteens who most likely asked their parents to buy it for them, and back then it WAS a novelty. I mean, 3D models, animations, lots of trivia, multi language support, mini games, comparisons, etc.
Nowadays most are adults who earn their own money and don't take it lightly, and obviously think twice before buying a product, truly analyzing it and considering if it's worthy.
Different times, different standards, different circumstances. You can't just compare the two or use one scenario to justify/criticize the other.
