Realistically, which country do you think the next region (not counting potential remakes) will be based on?
What seems more likely to me is either India (hinted with Copperajah, could be easily linked to Galar) or Australia.

Japan. Covid fucked the game up, no way they're going abroad unless it's to somewhere one of the staffers can describe extensively due to being a native, which reduces the potential pool significantly.

This could still be okay, but they have to be careful not to appear racist by whitewashing things, they would have to skirt around Africa's high povery rate and, they can't touch modern Egypt. (Political issues.) Although nothing's stopping them from basing a region on South or Central Africa, and just having a similar Egypt-inspired location.

...as you only realistic options. I think the next region has to be one of those 5. Then we might get another US/Europe region in Gen X.

I agree with you that political issues are a disqualifying factor but this still eliminates some of your remaining choices. South and central africa have either apartheid, diseases, poverty, civil war etc. And India has constant internal political issues and corruption, and frequent disputes with Pakistan.

Plus neither of these places are significant markets for Pokemon either, they don't even have a presence from Nintendo from what I know. Every region has been in a country, or part of a country, that is either a significant market worldwide, or a big tourist destination for Japan, or both. /vp/ doesn't understand that rando countries that appeal to them, won't appeal to normies or TPC.

That being said I would narrow it down to:

>Australia/New Zealand
>Somewhere in North America
They haven't done "too many" in USA, they only did two and Orre doesn't count. I wouldn't rule out Canada or Mexico though.

They've already have four core games in Japanese regions, and between the four of those, all four major Japanese islands were represented (Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Hokkaido). They've had spinoffs of numerous other locations in Japan. Anything else they would do, they would either have to explain that it's connected to one of the other regions, not to mention it would have to be made similar to how the other regions were designed for it to make sense.

Why the fuck would anybody in their right mind want a new Japan region? If you want the same style again that's perfectly fine, just grow some balls and ask for a DP remake.

Ya I think it’s California. People say USA already has 2 regions but alola is Polynesian above all and Hawaii is distinctly different from mainland USA. Unova was more of a generic fictional region that didn’t draw upon any specific countries outside of that big New York style city.
