In base SM I agree
But rotom dex was fundamentally broken in USUM. It was so intrusive and a lot of times you couldn't access the map/bottom screen unless you talked to him.

The idea of the rotomdex lends itself better to other mediums where characters can interact with it. In the games it's just the rotomdex pestering you alone. Really in the 2019 anime it's only Team Rocket's that has a personality, Ash and Goh's just operate like a machine.

Akwardzombie probably makes the best video game related comedy comics, she has clearly actually played the games the comics are about and has actual humor that's not just "lol Mario takes drugs and people think Link is Zelda!" You've probably actually seen some before, the "Eat your hamburgers Apollo" Ace Attorney strip is from her as well.

I don't follow her stuff regularly, but they are always worth a read if I see them posted around.
