Gens 2, 4 and 5 had some of the best VG music of all time.
The music of the pokemon games is still one of their few consistently high quality traits, but they haven't hit those highs since gen 5

Gen 3 is literally the most overrated soundtrack. It's the one that most people talk about (other than four depending on where the nostalgia is hitting at that point). The punchy instruments are fun, but the composition is pretty basic and there's not a lot of variety. I still enjoy the gen 3 soundtrack but it's definitely overhyped and in my opinion one of the weakest.

Unova has gens like Haxorus, Excadrill, Elektross, Bisharp, Volacrona, Escavalier, Braviary, Meinshao, Gigalith, and Sigilyph

WHY THE FUCK do people blame the current state of the franchise on Gen 5's poor reception by the fanbase?

It's true that the games got a lot of undeserved shit and the designs were unfairly criticized at the time. But that had nothing to do with the low sales. They sold like shit because they were released on a dead console, with the 3DS right around the corner. Hell, B2 and W2 were released when the 3DS was already out. No matter how good the games were, they would sell poorly.

The fanbase's hatred had nothing to do with it. Stop blaming Gamefreak's casual direction on that shit.

It was better than previous Gens' constant beeps, but later Gens' just alerting you with 3 beeps was the best way to go about it.
Why would I want the game's various amazing battle themes to be overwritten by some repetitive, annoying tune?
