• The idea, being that this is a trilogy that will culminate in a hypothetical sequel & Unova reboot.
• The thesis proposed was that one version (left) would feature the proper fusion method for the Tao Trio, while the other version (right) would feature a “corrupted” version.
• Pokemon Black 3 – The OD while representing harmony between truths/ideals, has itself become a mythological figure of the past. Its design hearkens back to the ancient (ie creation quartet) and the idea to restore Unova’s past glory. One looks to the past, in order to see the future is the theme here, and Unova looks back to an era where people/Pokemon lived in perfect harmony. In doing so, balance is restored to this version of the game. The villains (Plasma in military black) try to prevent the OD’s restoration. Divide et impera is this version of Plasma modus operandi.
• Pokemon White 3 – The OD dragon is regarded as nothing more than myth with no known method to “properly” restore it.The world of B3 is more technological, and thus found a way. In any case, the villains, OG Plasma, who now ride gallantly on Zebstrika as 3D games intended, forcefully fuse Kyurem with the other Tao members. The theme here, is to let the past die, kill it if you have to. God is dead, man has killed him. While “complete” Kyurem is a corrupted/abomination version of what the OD is, it doesn’t have to stay that way. With MC’s help, it takes up the mantle of the OD, but affects Unova in a different way. The crystals on its body and energy spur technological development, bringing Unova into the future.
• Hence, everything comes full circle, as each unified Tao form brings balance to their respective universes. (Also, credit where it’s due to the original artist, a this was the inspiration for the post) If the artist ever sees this, I wish they'd do an "on" version, with the OD having rocket/energy tail/wings & Kyurem having a full comet tail; also some pupils.
