But honestly, I like gens 3 and 5 better. Both gen 3 and 5, on paper, hit more of my preferences and standards for what i think a proper pokemon game should be like, they feel well polished and hit all the right notes and offer what I'd say is a better experience.
Yet in practice I always enjoy platinum way more. I usually put down emerald or black or black 2 when I get bored, and yet I can play platinum over and over and over again without ever getting bored of it, and I always enjoy my time with it more.
Does anyone else have anything like this? Where you have every reason to like something more than another thing, and you think this thing IS the objectively better game, and yet it's the other way around in practice? Keep it pokemon related.

Also, anyone know why I might feel this way? I don't even have much nostalgia for gen 4, I started with ruby
