Pokemon legitimately hasn't been good since Gen V. If you aren't paid to shill and have a shred of common sense, you know this.
But the true truth is that Pokemon hasn't actually been GREAT since Gen 3, and even then it was for two games (FR/LG and Emerald), before that R/S was just good, and spinoffs don't count. R/G/B/Y/G/S/C were the only run of games that were consistently great, and this was in spite of horrible coding in Gen I and poor map design compromises in Gen II. Gen III was more polished technically and had better level curves in Hoenn, but there was something missing in R/S that was recaptured by Emerald.
