>>44226328Fellow boomer here. Gen 4 is the last game I enjoyed enough to spend over 100 hours playing. It was intended to be the last set of Pokemon games, so the legendaries are OP and one of the event Pokemon is a god. If you choose to play them, platinum has a better variety of Pokemon. If you enjoyed GS, I would suggest at least playing their gen 4 remakes, which are probably my favorite Pokemon games altogether.
In my opinion, BW sucked. Don't want to get in to that here, gen 5 was pretty controversial and still is to this day. Their sequels are awesome though, BUT you would probably need to play BW to appreciate them more.
Gen 6 was mediocre at best. I like mega evolution, but the Kalos region itself felt very streamlined and ironically one dimensional. I actually really enjoyed the gen 3 remakes, but I'm aware that it's due to nostalgia, the gen 6 games were incredibly easy.
