Honest question. How the fuck did the sales get this high? What was the contributing factor? Was it the marketing? The Switch sold 50M units compared to the 3DS's ~70M and the DS's ~150M, so it can't be the consoles. Barely anybody gives a shit about Pokémon nowadays, so it can't be sudden popularity. So what was it? The game itself was controversial, there was a boycott (even though I'm convinced 80% of the boycottfags bought the game in the end) and the game is lacking compared to previous installments. You don't even need to buy multiple games for multiple people thanks to the Switch's multiple accounts. Do people just have extremely low standards for video games? I'm genuinely puzzled.
