I'll admit I've warmed up to Inteleon a bit since I really like Gex and I recently did a Nuzlocke with him as my starter, but Rillaboom's still my absolute favorite pokemon from this gen are honestly, one of my favorites period at this point.

I'm really glad he got dealt a good hand. I do think they look neat together though.

I think his model is fine, honestly, he just has a terrible idle pose. Rillaboom looks much better in motion or when he's actually attacking.

A lot of the "difficulty" comes from their original fields they created. Each boss usually has a field that they can abuse and a lot of the intended strategy involved with dealing with these bosses is changing the field to another one that'll either benefit yourself or null the benefits to said boss. Rillaboom could just be sent in and take away all of that and be done.

Rillaboom is the first started I've picked since gen 4. I only wish it took out the drums and sticks for attack animation instead of having them out the whole battle. Ideally I would have preferred a bamboo staff

I hated Galar starters when they first came out. They just fell too humanoid and weird, and I was very disappointed by Sobble evolving into such a thin, innatural thing.
I admit they are growing on me.
I hated Rillaboom's drums, now I like it and I would rate the design 9/10.
I hated Cinderace, now I think that its Gigantanax form is pretty dope. I'd rate It 8/10.

I haven't yet fully accepted Inteleon, even if I must admit that its Gigantanax form is pretty much an improvment over the original.
What do you guys love about Inteleon?

While I do love Rillaboom quite a lot (he's by far my favorite and one of my favorites period), I'll admit I don't really hate Inteleon that much for one reason: Gex.

He just reminds me of Gex, and I think my love for Gex kinda helped me get a soft spot for him. I still think his design is terrible, and he's absolutely bad in battle, but I'll always have a place in my heart for him thanks to Gex.

How does he run around in battle with the drum? Either he has to pick it up every time he needs to dodge an attack, or he has to abandon it to dodge and then try to maneuver back to it to continue attacking. I can't wait for him to show up in the anime so I can understand how he moves and fights

Dude, Sobble was pretty clearly the most dominate pokemon when they were first revealed because of shit memes and Scorbunny was very much a love it or hate it deal. Grooky wasn't loathed, it was just overshadowed by Sobble's massive rush of memes and Scorbunny's extremely divisive design.

"Overshadowed" does not mean "Disliked", it just means in this case that while Grookey had fans he wasn't making as big of an impact as the other two. Though I'd argue in his case it was a good thing.

Definitely my favorite grass starter since sceptile and torterra, and favorite starter over all since gen 6. Ssj3 drummer monkey is just too based. It’s attack animation is awesome, but I do wish he only took the drums out to attack. Personally I wish he had a bamboo staff but pretty happy considering what we got

I always kinda thought Grooky would evolve into a grass/rock drummer with Rock Head as his hidden ability for spamming recoilless Wood Hammers and Head Smashes.

I think I like what we got more but that would've been fucking awesome if it happened.

Pokemon mainline games has autistically trained me to despise monotypes. Grass/Rock would have been amazing and I would have loved to fit Rillaboom in a dual type team.

This line genuinely surprised me with how consistent it is. The drum could've been incorporated just a tad better, but overall I think they're one of the best lines period, starter or not.

Same here. The monotypes on these guys aren’t the worst decision ever, but with some minor design tweaks I could see Rillaboom being turned into Grass/Rock (make drum rockier, maybe put rock plate on chest), Inteleon being Water/Ghost perhaps (more emphasis on turning invisible), and Cinderace being Fire/Electric (energizer bunny theme, running fast creates hot sparks, enhance the yellow colorings already on it, give it an electric-fire ball, etc.)

A tie, serperior is nice and all but in the grand picture, Rillaboom trades the ability to snowball and sweep with not being walled by Heatran (inb4 "bro just HP Ground", now you're walled by corviknight, skarmory, celesteela and every grass type, ferrothorn being the prime example) and more utility.
Granted, both Serperior and Rillaboom are great examples of offensive grass types done right, even if people resort to crying and yelling "NOOO THEY'RE ONLY GOOD BECAUSE THEY HAVE BUSTED COMBOS" [contrary leaf storm, grassy slide boosted by grassy terrain], it's hard to say which one is better than the other because they play different, but i can assure you that once both of them are in the galar dex, Mono-Grass is going to be a very fun team in monotype

I think both of them can do more than just spam their really good stabs though. Serperior is a good sub-seeder and Rillaboom can really get some work done with his signature move's speed control.

I do think Venusaur should be up there too though, he's also pretty damn good.
