So I got Sword + Home last week and it seems like I'm still missing three pre-gen 8 mons (Zeraora, Meltan and Melmetal). I can't seem to find them on the GTS and I'm not going to buy LGPE and play GO for literal months. Is there any other way to get these pokemon?

None of those Pokemon can be found on the GTS due to them being classified as Mythical Pokemon, your only hope in getting them is either wireless or local trades. As far as ranking them in terms of difficulty I’d rank them (from least to most difficult) >Meltan

meltan you can only get thru GO.
You missed the shiny zeroara.
You don’t need these pokemon to complete a dex, shit happens if you miss out.

good luck with getting a Melmetal,tho anon. people demand all sorts of shit for one and these are usually people who know how to tell the difference between a genned pokemon and a legitimate one. For example they'll demand shiny pokemon along with a screenshot of you battling that pokemon if you caught it in the wild or of it's hatching if you bred it. Or an evnt along with a screen of you claiming that event.

Damn, sadly I don't ever take pictures of shinies. I never breed for them and the last one I found in the wild was Zoroark all the way back in X. I guess I'll just start asking around in trade threads soon, gonna complete the Galar dex first.

he said. You can get Zeraora and Meltans easily but Melmetal is fucking hard to find because of how hard it is to get one naturally and giveaway hacked and clones go up quickly.

If GO still has the double lure duration thing then Melmetal only takes two or three boxes to get. You'd still need Let's Go though.

I got my Melmetal like two weeks ago and can confirm getting it was much less of a grind than I was expecting based on what I had read online, all information that I assume was only accurate when it was first released. In two boxes you'll get more than enough Meltan for candy and there's only a three day gap or something between openings. Coming at it as somebody who doesn't play Go and lives in the middle of nowhere though, actually having enough pokeballs to catch that many Meltan wound up being a problem. You'll probably have to spin some stops between boxes if you aren't a regular player.

meltan is such bullshit, it's a mythical that evolves and you can only evolve on GO. You can literally never have meltan and melmetal in a dex without jumping through hoops. They better do an event for it like every other mythical.

meltan and melmetal are easy if you have a LGPE game. you transfer a pokemon from go to LGPE and then get a box that acts like a lure to catch nothing but meltan for an hour. box cd is 3 days, when the timer is up you just need to send another pokemon from go to LGPE and catch again. you need a total of 102 meltan for your living dex.
