It seems that the only type-based Max moves that were even vaguely balanced were Max Ooze and Max Knuckle since the BP of their Max moves are significantly lower than the others due to buffing Sp.A and Atk respectively, but then you have some outright fucking retarded shit like Max Airstream where even garbage moves like Bounce become nukes with marvelous secondary effects. It just made already good Pokemon like Gyarados or Excadrill even more monstrous and made using Choice items less committal, which is honestly the biggest sin. The worst part is that the devs even made DMaxed mons immune to several options that are, on paper, pretty good ways to check the mechanic, like Encore, Taunt, Destiny Bond, etc.
It feels like they went out of their way to make Dynamax as retardedly broken as humanly possible. Z-Moves were dumb, but at least it requires committing to a specific Pokemon and giving up an item slot, but D-Max is just Z-Moves 2.0.
