Hunting for a shiny sobble with HA so i can give it gmax soup, i got one a few days ago but it just has the normal ability so i'll keep him unevolved

reclaimed a shelmet during the togepi hunt so that's pretty cool.

either white or any gen 6 game, mainly for the sparkles (ring > anything else).

Pokeradar in XY (don't have gen 4 games yet so i don't have an opinion on that version). never got used to it even knowing everything. it doesn't even have radar exclusives like in gen 4 so i'd rather just MM or RE.

Bred a shiny Own Tempo Rockruff, incidentally encountered a Shiny Nickit while doing this. Nickit was a nice surprise, its sitting pretty in a Moon Ball right now.

USUM, because SOS Chaining is a super underrated method and I like it a lot. Also the latest place I can breed a large amount of mons now for obvious reasons

I hate hate HATE Gen 6 Radar. It just felt awkward and there were really no perks for doing it over any other method.

sup /shw/ i've never really bothered shiny hunting before but i've encountered 5 in the past week from max raid battles (4 out of 5 were pokes added in the dlc) so is there an event or is this an exploit or what?? i keep getting excited to see a shiny but the amount i'm finding at the moment makes me feel like it's an exploit and they're not worth shit

there's an exploit that lets you know how many days to skip until a certain den spawns a shiny, which you can soft reset to get shinies of every species that appears in that den, but there is also an upcoming event that will have a boosted chance of spawning shiny wailord raids

You can also host the raid, put it online and then disconnect your game so your character becomes an NPC and you can put up another raid. There's a thread around that does this.

SWSH's breeding area is pretty decent and the camera makes things a tiny bit easier but I still have to use two hands

Give it to me straight, is encounter hunting worth it at all in Gen 8? Since the reroll chance only has a 3% chance of happening even after you knock out/catch a ton of the same mon, this seems like the least efficient way to find a shiny since full odds SRing

it's still somewhat faster than random encountering in past gens since you can see mons in the overworld, plus you can find some with marks/good ivs/egg moves
