>>44244569Depends heavily on which additional Pokemon you are gonna catch. With a full team, It's not much different than any other run. Just bear in mind that Meganium is not your main attacker, but more tank/utility.
But solo? I did on in Gold a long time ago, and it was one of the more difficult soloruns I have done.
That's because you can't just break through every enemy with attacking moves - Chikoritas Movepool is lackluster in that regard.
Poison powder and Reflect are your friends; they can and will save your ass in more difficult battles.
Every gym battle is either a neutral or a bad match up, except for the fighting gym cause Poliwrath. Against the ghost gym you're almost guaranteed to need help, since the Ghastly line cucks you pretty bad.
Team Rocket can be trouble sometimes, since most of their Pokemon resist grass, and many of them are poison types, so no Poison Powder - but thanks to the low difficulty level of Gen.2, that should be manageable.
The elite 4 however is surprisingly easy. You get Earthquake just after Victory Road, which is really useful against them and in the post game.
