Linoone in emerald
Found it in the super tall grass, I had never heard of shinies, but I noticed it was orange, which I thought was strange and neat, I caught it and it was on my team, I had no idea it was some rare thing, to me it was just my linoone. Traded it up the games until I lost it in black due to a mishap. I'll never train a linoone again to honor its memory.

Based. Also found a shiny Linoone in Ruby, but I didn't have any balls (not even master balls) to catch it, so I had to kill it. Why little me didn't care to buy any pokeballs is beyond me, I would have punched myself for being that dumb.

For reasons I can’t tell you I was searching for a male petilil for breeding (not knowing that petilils were female only and thought only same species gave out eggs), I was hunting for petilils until I found a different colored version, while I was confused of the different coloring I caught it either way, this would’ve been a great find until I deleted the save file to replay white again forgetting about the shiny

The first one I got that wasn't a gift or event was a Rockruff that I hinted through SOS. Since then I've also gotten a Rookidee, but ended up trading it away.
