Copy pasted from notepad.
It is I, the mono grass boy.
Because the game fucked me, it fucked me!
Anyways, made my way to Rustboro City.
I showed Roxxane the hardest rock of all, my dick, and fucked her ass.
Battle summary:
>Geodude survives Absorb, Rock Tomb almost kills Sam Fisher >Roxxane uses a potion, Sam Fisher crits and kills the dude >Sam Fisher levels up (14) >"It's super effective" >Deals basically no damage, it's as if he resists grass >Rock Tomb chunks Sam Fisher >Nosepass in now faster, Rock Throw connects >Sam Fisher almost dead >Absorb heals close to nothing >Sam Fisher is slow and weak, I'm not losing my starter like this >Switch to Kocaqi, Rock Throw misses (#Blessed) >Nosepass is faster, Rock Throw connects, Kocaqi almost dead >Absorb deals basically no damage and heals like 3 HP >I decide to sacrifice Kocaqi in hopes of saving my other Pokemon >Roxxane uses a Potion, Absorb heals Kocaqi another 3 HP >Well, this fucking sucks >It's either Koraqui dies or my entire team and I fail the run >Rock Throw hits, Kocaqi dies >Nosepass just a bit below half HP >Spruce Lee is all I got left, Sam can't survive a switch and Toodles stands no chance >Nosepass is faster, Spruce Lee tanks a Rock Throw, sets up Leech Seed >Next turn another Rock Throw connects, Spruce Lee still stands >Spruce Lee is taking these attacks a lot better than Kocaqi >Absorb + Leech Seed do just enough to finish Nosepass >Spruce Lee levels up (11) Honestly didn't expect to lose anybody with THREE GRASS TYPES, but whatever, that's life I guess.
Next is I don't fucking know, I'm playing semi blind off of memory from many years ago,
Should be easy with 2 grass types and a Skitty HM Slave...

Whitney taken down, thanks to some great luck! Started the battle with Shimmy Jim so that he may Stun Spore Miltank without having to switch in Turn one, Vine Whip does about 40% HP to her Clefairy, Clefairy using Mimic to learn Vine Whip which is fine Another Vine Whip, Shimmy Jim gets infatuated due to Cute Charm, Clefairy uses Metronome and gets FLAMETHROWER which does about half of our health Next turn she heals, we're immobilized Vine Whip, Metronome gets Splash Vine Whip, she's down to 20% HP again, Metronome a third time which gets Fire Spin which does...less damage than I anticipated A final Vine Whip gets past infatuation for a third time, killing Clefairy Miltank is its usual speedy self, outspeeding Shimmy Jim and Attracts, Shimmy Jim miraculously getting past it and hitting with Stun Spore, activating Miltank's Lum Berry Second turn, Miltank uses Stomp, Shimmy Jim barely hanging on by a thread, gets through infatuation and lands Stun Spore like an absolute goddamn bro Send in Doki Doki, Miltank is paralyzed Doki Doki uses Headbutt which does about 30% HP, Miltank using Stomp for negligible damage Doki Doki pulling off a victory by landing a big, fat critical hit

>Vs Olivia I decided to use Lucy, because Eviolite Mudbray just eats Olivia alive.>Nosepass Lucy hits it with Bulldoze, and takes minimal damage from Rock Slide, and Stamina makes sure it will take even less damage later on. High Horsepower finishes off Nosepass.>Boldore Bulldoze does a bit less than I thought, but Boldore's Headbutt doesn't do much, and Lucy grows even tankier. High Horsepower puts Boldore into the red, and it buffs Lucy's defenses even further with Headbutt. Olivia uses a Super Potion as another Horsepower slams her Boldore. One more, and it is down.>Lycanroc It feebly tries to Bite Lucy, who oneshots it with High Horsepower.

Bugsy down. Got a little worried when Slippys Rock Throw only took out like 45% of Scythers hp despite being 4x effective. Luckily the first Quick Attack triggered a burn which pretty much sealed the match

Acquired the Storm Badge, but at a heavy cost
Chuck's Primeape fell instantly to Cher's crit Thunderbolt, Poliwrath going on the defensive until it managed to paralyze Cher, and fearing a Focus Punch I switched to Shimmy Jim to finish the job
Shimmy Jim was outspeeding Poliwrath and did a little over 1/4th HP each turn with Vine Whip, Poliwrath doing about the same with Surf. I had gotten Poliwrath down to the last sliver of health when it broke out a Body Slam that got a crit that killed Shimmy Jim, Doki Doki coming in to revenge
Sucks losing Shimmy Jim since it had been so long since last I used a Victreebel (I had even gotten a Leaf Stone, was just waiting for it to learn Razor Leaf as a Weepinbell), but thankfully I'm not exactly hurting for options

>Chinchou Geoff makes his debute!

Chinchou gets a final Bubble Beam in before Psychic, leaving Geoff in the red.
>Araquanid I'm in a bind. If Thundershock doesn't kill despite +4 and Expert belt, Geoff is dead. I can't really switch anyone else in since Hydro Vortex could very well oneshot. That being said, I think the chance of a low enough roll for Geoff to fail to kill is less than 10%, so I go for it.
>Araquanid used Bug Bite! >It's super effective! >Geoff Fainted! He... got outsped. I suppose I either had a slow Raichu, or Chinchou's final Bubble Beam may have caused a speed drop that I missed because I was slightly distracted.
Lovegood comes in to avenge her fallen friend, and oneshots Araquanid with an Acrobatics Crit.
>Shellder I Switch in Tidy on a Supersonic(which hits).
She Scalds it, and takes minimal damage from the retaliatory Water Gun.
Same stuff happens the next turn, except Scald both crits and burns. Tidy also snaps out of confusion.
Lana is an idiot and goes for a Full Heal, and Acrobatics finishes the battle.

Kiawe uses a Super Potion, and Acrobatics doesn't do that much.
Tidy uses Baby-Doll Eyes to lower the Marowak's attack, and it uses Will-O-Wisp in return.
Marowak's Hex hits way harder now, but I thankfully put it to sleep with Sing. Disable wears off, which is perfect.
Kiawe uses a Full Heal, which was the best case Scenario- if Marowak woke up and Hexed, it might have killed Tidy. Scald takes out the Marowak.

decided to swap my team a little bit because karrina needs my help before she gives me rock smash. i love how this game makes you fight gyms and get HMs when the world/melia is in danger instead of the people who want to help you just giving said things to you, that really makes a ton of sense. good call, because first major fight of this split is dr. jekell, who's a double battle with a PULSE musharna and two munna. really annoying and dangerous battle despite only 3 pokemon, the musharna (who is psychic/fairy and presumably gets insanely high stats a la mega evolution) sets misty terrain to boost the power of its insanely strong mist ball and stop status, and the munna get fully healed when in misty terrain due to their seeds. thankfully i managed to lose no one by locking them into a loop where the musharna would use a not-very-effective mist ball on freya when i swapped to it from akihiko, all while spamming smokescreen with crono (again, protean is a lifesaver, as the 'base' terrain for this battle is a factory field that powers up the munna's shock waves - smoke screen allowed it to stay normal type and made them target freya/akihiko anyway). once the misty terrain faded, i paralyzed and confused the musharna then whittled it down safely. next up is an optional boss in falkner, yes, falkner, thankfully you don't use your real team for it and he's easy. also begin to grab zygarde cells for the zygarde side quest, not sure how much is needed for the doggo/50% forme but i assume it's no time soon. my team REALLY needs some bulkier/defensive mons, so i picked up spritzee on route 2, near full investment phys def with calm mind, and luxio in the chrisola hotel, spdef invested with intimidate/baby doll eyes. probably going to grind up the shiny trubbish, as well, but first i need to fight nim, yet another very wacky and very funny character who uses psychic pokemon. don't have any good mons for this so expecting a death.

>>44261043 hooooooooly fuck, that is probably the most obnoxious battle i've ever had.
it's a double battle, I knew that. nim leads with solrock and lunatone, I knew that. I spam charge on ryuji and calm mind on nozomi (the latter of which is actually a +2 for both spa and spd thanks to nim's field). what i did not know about this fight is that rock slide apparently has 100 fucking accuracy and 99.99% chance to flinch, because they both spammed it and got a flinch, every. single. FUCKING. turn.
after i burned through a dozen soda pops, i proceeded to one shot lunatone with nozomi's draining kiss, and hit solrock with ryuji's baby doll eyes. out comes inkay, who puts nozomi to sleep. apparently, hypnosis is also 100% accuracy in nim's bullshit field, fantastic. thankfully, nozomi wakes up the next turn, and kills inkay, ryuji kills solrock during this time period for a double kill on the same turn, out comes espurr, who starts setting up screens, but i double up on it for a thankfully easy kill.
my next catch is a sandshrew, which i will likely just make into a proper tank, because the next boss is dimensional rift galvantula and that will likely be ass to deal with without a ground type. also think i'll grind up the trubbish now

Since it's a new thread, I'll go over the rules again: I'm Nuzlocking all 3 Gen III games at the same time, and dupes clause applies across all 3. So, if Sapphire gets a Zigzagoon, nobody else is allowed a Zigzagoon. This forces some interesting teams at the expense of the encounter pool drying up pretty fast -- sometimes multiple games go without any encounter at all on some routes. Here are the results of the Tate and Liza fight: Ruby used Cacturne and Dusclops and ate them alive. Easy EXP for baby Snorunt with the Exp Share. Sapphire had the death of my Magneton. Cacturne took a Solrock Flamethrower, so I figured Magneton and Tropius both could. Tropius shrugged it off, but Magneton got melted. Emerald was a clean sweep from Sharpedo and Sceptile. I knew what a threat Solrock was, so I double-targeted it at the risk of a +2 Xatu messing me up. It ended up taking Sceptile from full HP to 6 once it was alone, but then died right after.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK Finished up the stupid Zetta/Dimensional Rift Galvantula battles, both were going so well UNTIL fucking venam at the end decided to use bulldoze with her seviper at the end to take out ryuji (didn't even take out the galvantula, either, the new kumatora the sandslash had to fill in). and there goes one of the few intimidate mons i'll likely get and one of the biggest things i was saving for the next gym leader. this especially sucks because it SEEMED like the partner AI in this game is good enough to not go for everyone-targetting moves if the mon you have out was strong enough to shrug it off (melia's stufful wouldn't use brutal swing with my hoggmeister out, but would if i had crono out which it did barely anything to). this is a REALLY damn good slap to the face that partners are fucking dickheads in this game, great to know earlier than later. the actual fights themselves were pretty uneventful, crono ripped zetta a new asshole again and i swapped in ryuji to spam baby doll eyes once type null came out then swapped to kumatora to soak up weak crush claws, i picked venam as my partner for the zetta fight but it really didn't matter as she did nothing. dimensional rift galvantula actually is a joke if you have decent special defense and don't rely on special attack to get around the struggle bug spam (which ryuji satisfied) and the actual galvantula itself is electric/poison so if venam wasn't retarded i would have just killed it with kumatora's magnitude after ryuji facetanked and killed off all the joltiks. next up is sheridan, which brings a lot of new captures thankfully, so that'll be nice. still salty as fuck though

>Leafeon Leafeon hits fairly hard with Giga Drain, and Tuffnut uses Toxic on it.
A second Giga Drain leaves Tuffnut at 8 HP, but a super-effective Merciless Crit Double Power STAB Venoshock kills the Leafeon in a single blow.
>Torracat again I send Reginella in on Fire Fang, and she finishes the fight with Air Cutter.
This Hau fight was terrifying, a crit at any point from his side would likely have meant deaths were unavoidable.
Ronja
>>44268190 That Hau fight is legitimately terrifying, especially in original Sun and Moon where, as you mentioned, you can't change your team between Nihilego and the battle. I know I've been bamboozled by that a fair few times before I learned to prepare for it, good going on getting through without casualties!

this isn't all the captures i can get for now, but it's all the ones i want to get for tonight. the kecleon thief sidequest was definitely very...wonky, i'm glad it didn't result in a team wipe but i did it very sloppily.
emotionless keta is going to be a big issue, because his super special OC move gale strike apparently gains an added grass typing in his field, meaning my initial plan of training up the solrock and lunatone might not work, and i have two flying types right now (swablu is just too weak) neither of whom i think will do very well against his ace lucario. might just grind up solrock and lunatone and bullrush his team until they die, with the move tutor i can get solrock to learn flare blitz, and then hope freya/hoggmeister can clean up whatever's left. revenant keta also has a varied team which i won't even get hints for, so that'll be fun, but that's a problem for future me.
>>44268190 nice job beating hau with no deaths! when i nuzlocked ultra moon that raichu claimed 4 of my team and his brionne claimed a fifth, i assume the original is just as evil
>>44267209 this is no comprehensive list, but maybe you could try fire red omega (there are better fire red hacks like fire red advanced or nameless but they change up quite a bit), cosmic emerald, or if you want something a lot different you could try gaia or glazed

Vikavolt: Only has physical moves, only Vicegrip hits neutrally.
The partners? One of the Charjabugs can only hit Mudbray with Bite. The other one has Mud-Slap, Vice-Grip and String Shot.
No point in risking anyone on the main longterm team when my reserve mon can annihilate this Totem.

so this game gives you details about the gym leader's ace, their special move, how the terrain benefits them, and what possible Pokemon you can use for counters - unfortunately what it DIDN'T tell me is that Emotionless Keta is fought in a double battle. battle as a result was awful>Turn 1 I send out Hecate the Lunatone and Felix the Solrock, he sends out Hariyama and Breloom. Expect Breloom to have Seed Bomb or something so I double on it, Hariyama hits Lunatone with Fake Out, Solrock one shots Breloom with Zen Headbutt. >Turn 2 Next up is the ace, shiny Lucario. It smacks Felix with a Bullet Punch, who one shots in return with Flare Blitz, but that brings it into red. Hecate brings Hariyama to under half with Psyshock. UNFORTUNATELY, the AI decided to double on Felix, killing him, fucking hell>Turn 3 Hitmontop is out next, I send in Freya. Air Cutter gets a 1.5x boost in Keta's field, so I murder Hitmontop in a single hit with it, but not before it knocks Hecate into low yellow with Bullet Punch, then I kill off the weak Hariyama with Hecate.>Turn 4 Next up is Throh and Pignite, last mons. I don't see myself beating Throh in one turn without Pignite killing something, so I swap out Hecate and Freya for Hoggmeister and Angela. Unfortunately they double on Hoggmeister with Rock Tomb and Fire Punch, but he hangs on with a sliver.>Turn 5 I have to choose a sack here - I pick Hoggmeister, Hecate I think will just be better long-run compared to Grumpig, so I heal Freya and let them kill my pig ;(. Angela doesn't give a fuck about anything they can do thankfully and poisons them>end of battle I send in Crono to clean up Pignite, then swap to Freya to murderfuck Throh with Air Cutter, Angela just spams Venoshock to help out. Definitely sucks to lose 2 mons, felt I could have avoided this had I known it was doubles prior, but oh fucking well. Next up is Madelis, Shadow Mewtwo (who I will probably try and beat, but I doubt I can, not required tho) and Revenant Keta

everything went pretty well. first up was bugsy, who you don't use your real team for, and he's a pushover. even though it is a virtual team a la XD's virtual CDs, i do try to keep in the spirit of a nuzlocke by not having anyone die. mt. carotos in its entirety was awful - the terrain hurts all non-fire grounded mons every turn, even once the battle is over, so i had to play everything uber safe to not end up with a mon too low at the end of a fight. on the upper floors, there's shit like electrode with explosion (which new member garm actually tanked) and raichu that gets constantly buffed by its partner magneton thanks to lightningrod. aelita was a pretty good partner on the lower floors, but keta is fucking stupid and beyond retarded - his hariyama would literally spam rock tomb against steel/normal types instead of using its actual fighting moves, and when he did use his fighting move, they would miss. nearly lost a couple mons due to him. madelis was actually pretty easy, because she's also pretty dumb, and it's a 6v12 with keta as a partner. new member rocky the lycanroc ripped her team apart with rock tomb which i brought solely for her houndoom but ended up being good against basically her entire team. but then she pulls out shadow mewtwo. thought i was gonna lose a mon, but thankfully madelis just targetted keta's fighting pokemon the whole time, and rocky hit three thrashes for a surprisingly easy win. didn't need to even send out garm once, who i specifically brought for the mewtwo, lol. dimensional rift volcanion (this game loves making you fight legendaries) was also thankfully a joke, because its only threatening move, steam eruption, is easily PP stalled, it doesn't hit hard, and crono has smoke screen. i scouted with hecate to make sure it had no other water moves, then cosmic powered up and spammed rock slide for another easy win. however, next is revenant keta, who's likely going to fuck me up for reasons stated previously. we'll see though

HAHAHAHA he was a fucking joke. guess being dead did make his battling skills worse. not posting new team since there's no update on it (i did swap garm for angela but she wasn't needed)
started with nozomi as fairy type attacks are powered up a lot in revenant keta's blessed field and i plan to set up, and so
>vs Gabite absolutely fantastic lead for me, nozomi is phys def invested with draining kiss, i build up to +3 with calm minds, then one shot, it's stomping tantrums barely do anything.
>vs Roselia not staying in on a poison type i struggle to hurt, i swap to hecate and smack it with a psyshock, psychic moves are powered up a lot in the blessed field as well, easy one shot.
>vs lapras i had NOTHING good for this, so i swapped in rocky because i assumed i could take a hit. and i was absolutely 100% right. rocky thankfully landed two rock tombs for an easy two shot, but was brought low by water pulse. need to be more careful in the future
>vs donphan aaaand here's where the cheese started. i brought hecate for a great reason - cosmic power gets doubled in the blessed field, on top of psyshock already being boosted. donphan could know knock off, but i have no item on hecate, and i have a few super potions. if it did have knock off, it did not use it against me, only hit me with weak rock tombs, and i get up to +6 in defenses with hecate very fast.
and after that, the battle's over, nothing he has can really hurt me afterwards. donphan goes down in 3 psyshocks (after getting an annoying crit). shiny ninetales comes out, at +6 i reason i can take a solar beam since it does have drought, but it doesn't even have it, only some vague hidden power that's SE against hecate, it dies to psyshocks.
final mon is gallade, the ace, which just spams drain punch and does like 8 damage. hecate has 90 hp. easy psyshock spam for the kill, and i reason i could probably have messed with it using nozomi if i did get unlucky.
that's the punch badge

just finished up most of the stuff on route 3, except for talking to ren where he locks you out of racism town. first boss of the split was amanda who was...a complete pushover, like, i would have probably forgotten to even mention her had it not been for her last mon. it was a miltank with thunder wave, stomp, and milk drink with very good AI. yeah, that took me a good 30 minutes to beat, should've brought kumatora or a ghost, but whatever, it didn't pose much of an actual threat. next up is whitney and morty in the virtual world. whitney was annoying to beat and also had an extremely fucking annoying miltank that loved to spam milk drink, but it let me curse up my onix to +6 and the wigglytuff failed to take me out with ice punch (the field for the virtual battles uses pre-split mechanics). morty, unfortunately, handed me my asshole on a silver platter ;(. was hoping to do a 'nuzlocke' with the virtual world as well to sate my autism, but whatever. i'll beat him later next is rorim b, who actually could have been dangerous due to his high levels, but i had the right mons. lilligant did nothing to angela and i set up 2 layers of tspikes in its face, hecate took a nasty critical psychic gem relevation dance from oricorio but was alright and killed back with 2 rock slides, tidus took out bruxish with a few pursuits as it just swords danced, nozomi stalled out ludicolo, and while his vivillon did have a focus sash it failed to do much to rocky before i took it out. also, after replacing the glitchxcity music, this game got 10000x better lmao

>Ariados I underestimate the spider something fierce and I pay the price: Sucker Punch kills one of my most helpful team members.
I send Reginella in for vengenace.
Ariados uses another Sucker Punch, and Air Cutter Misses!
Another turn of Sucker Punch and Air Cutter lands Reginella almost in the red, and Ariados with only a sliver of health left after a crit.
I switch out Reginella and Sucker Punch fails on the incoming Tuffnut.
A final Sucker Punch can't stop Scald from ending the fight.

the cunny gym leader kicked my ass I send out Zeke the Hariyama and Fake Out. It uses Cosmic Power, which because it's a blessed field, boosts it's defense and spdef by 2, meaning my force palm does barely anything. then it BATON PASSES out to a fucking toucannon, but thankfully my followup force palm paralyzed it. I swap in rocky as it drill pecks, then I use a rock gem-boosted rock tomb, but it has a fucking charti berry on top of its +2 defense. fortunately, it stays paralyzed for 3 more turns and lets rocky kill it. lopunny comes out again, i send out zeke and fake out, then it dry passes to girafarig. i send out hecate on its boosted psychic, then spam cosmic power as it uses multipulse (basically a slightly weaker move than judgment that's dependent on the plate you're holding, and no i have no idea what the plate is, yes this game hates nuzlockes), doesn't hurt much. i then take it out with my boosted psychics, it did have nasty plot but used it on the turn it died. lopunny comes out again, i know it's shit this time, so i knock off when it dry passes into a level 32 bewear (level cap is 30, for reference), taking off its assault vest. it's return nearly kills a full HP zeke, so i take it safe, swap to hecate, then use a boosted psychic to thankfully kill it in return. lopunny is now low enough where i can kill it with fake out, so out comes stantler, and holy fuck this thing was on drugs. zeke got taken out from full with a crit return, broque with over 100 def EVs and reflect nearly got oneshot by return, and i had to sack hecate to try and get damage off on it before crono could revenge kill. finally was porygon2, most of my mons are nearly dead or have no way to really hurt this thing, i send in rocky to thrash but it gets taken out by a SE multipulse, send in freya to calm mind and even at +2 spdef tri attack brings me into low yellow, but i kill it with a boosted confusion next turn. and that's the normal badge, facade, and 3 dead bros. fuck

Unfortunately lost Kala/Jellicent at Iris due to a stupidly bad call by me. I had baited out Haxorus and killed it early so her last Pokemon was Archeops so I sent out Jada/Krookodile to Intimidate before sending Kala out cause I figured that would take the edge off it's attacks... I forgot how powerful a STAB Acrobatics is even when intimidated and Kala lost half her health and I realised I had to sacrifice her in order to get a safe entry for Faraday to get in and kill it. I should've just sent Faraday out first to begin with but I was convinced for some reason Archeops would outspeed it so Kala went out cause figured she could tank two attacks then counter with a Surf. after another eternity of searching for drifloon (apparently, it's a 2% encounter at night, and i'm playing on an unreal clock that's entirely too fast), i decide to move on with plot. trainers are starting to get really hard now, to the point where i'm expecting to lose mons to randos, and basically have set a reminder to constantly stock on moomoo milk/ice cream.
aelita wasn't difficult. broque the mr. mime utterly ripped her apart with psybeam/icy wind, the only damage i took was mienfoo's fake out. from what i remember on past playthroughs, tho, her hawlucha has flying gem + acrobatics, which easily could have 6-0'd my entire team had i not one shotted it.
crawli (who is a woman now?) was easy, if a surprise. thankfully i had freya out front who killed the araquanid, nanashi burned golisopod so seviche could take it out, and kumatora walled galvantula.
dimensional rift gyarados, on the other hand, i had to prepare for. i trained a mightyena i got in the deep sewers to be max defense/max hp evs, then spammed sand attack/healed/switched around to intimidate spam to where vaan the ambipom could come in, tickle it down to -6 atk and def, and then go for the kill.
still can't beat the other big optional boss, kingdra, for now, but i'll probably try and attempt it after i beat narcissa. next up though is giratinafag who gave me a lot of trouble when i played this game a while ago, so we'll see how that goes.

People meme on the Lance for having three Dragonites, but that's part of what makes the HGSS league deceptively challenging. And don't discount the E4, either. They have some pretty nasty surprises if you go in blind.
Ronja
>>44301744 >you're likely better off getting lapras ice shard and making it decently physical and bulky, those dragonites hit really damn hard Oh the Dragonites don't really worry me too much with the plan that I have, with max speed investment Lapras outspeeds them with a +1 in speed easily, and one Ice Beam is enough with STAB factored in
I don't know if Ice Shard would do enough damage to oneshot, and that would kinda bring me back to square one, and if I invest too much in Attack I lose out on either Special Attack or Speed which could cost me dearly when trying to take out the non-dragons on his team
With my rules I kinda can't afford to play bulky/defensively unless I get a mon with great defenses and a recovery move, and even then I'm much better off going in with a glass cannon since I can't afford to get hit anyway
>>44301823 I was hoping to keep her for Red, but thinking about it I'm probably better off with Gliscor in the long run anyway since it isn't weak to Iron Tail
My strategy for Red in HGSS is to use an Electrode to steal his Pikachu's Light Ball (the fucker has Rayquaza level offenses with it which is just stupid) and then use Rain Dance to get rid of the Hail, then sending out a Ground type to set up on the gimped Pikachu and then sweep
It's either that or grind to high 70s/low 80s, which nope

Most of the mons on my team won't have that much utility in later games, so I'm kinda trying to balance what will be useful later versus what could be helpful right now

I kill Masquerain the following turn, but then Clefable reveals it has flamethrower, killing seviche from full ;( I just spammed Snarl the rest of the battle and Nozomi/Garm facetanked the clefable's annoying dazzling gleams and thunder waves, but yeah, that's five dead bros in 30 minutes despite heavy ev training and prep. this game does not fuck around. up next is the ghost gym leader and ren, and now i have access to the breeders for easy exp grinding, which i will take advantage of

Well I'm knocking on the door of the 2nd gym and finally found out how to synch the emulator to my clock. There was a few near-disasters on the way, Catching Stoker the Golett made me sweat a little as he used rollout but I caught him just in time. So now I've completed my White 2 Nuzlocke which for the record took me 3 years on and of to complete I'm now getting back into the feeling of doing another one in hopefully a much more reasonable time. It's between Sun and AS and I'm probably picking Sun if I do it so I'm wondering would it be fair to pull pack on some of my usual battle rules for it. I normally play with no healing in battles and can only use the same number of pokemon as my opponent BUT considering how notoriously brutal the Totem fights can be in a Nuzlocke(see pic related) I'm thinking of easing up on at least healing items for those and maybe adding a new rule for regular figts in exchange.

>>44308771 Golduck was pretty instrumental in getting past Roxie and her poison types. Other than that, it's not that Golduck is bad, it's just very mediocre. It has a total BST of 500 so you think it'd be alright, but then you see that it's stat distribution is very uniform, only 18 point difference between the highest and lowest stats.
But in BW2 you don't get much chance for any water pokemon until after the 5th gym (Psyduck, Azurill before the 1st gym, and Ducklett before the 5th) so I ended up just keeping it. Really should have used it in an earlier game but oh well.

both ren and narcissa suffer from a fatal weakness - if you use flash on their haunted fields, they turn into blessed fields, significantly nerfing their pokemon and making fairy/psychic attacks a lot stronger and making normal SE against ghosts. so i trained up some fairies and normal types ren was easy as fuck, nothing to say here. it's very telling that i forgot to put shift back on and still beat his ass easily narcissa was also pretty easy, but i'll do a play by play anyway:>rotom I send out yusuke and flash, while it hits me with a useless will o wisp. i then draining kiss twice as it misses 2 discharges in a row>chandelure send out vaan, fake out, then facade>spiritomb yusuke comes out again and draining kisses, it hits me with night shade, doesn't do much, i hit another DK and kill it>mimikyu i was afraid of this pokemon ever since i saw it in a cutscene in goldenwood forest, and it's exactly why i brought vaan and not nozomi. i send in vaan and fake out to break the disguise, then facade, but it doesn't kill. however, it's boosted play rough doesn't kill vaan in return amazingly, so i take it out with another facade.>mismagius i go out to yusuke again, hit draining kiss for half its health as it nasty plots. thankfully it just decides to nasty plot again as i kill it with DK>dusclops the ace, it's thing is being bulky and spamming will o wisp and pressure stall and such. doesn't work too well on magic guard kliffie the clefable, so i send it out, get +2 cosmic powers up to +6, then 3 shot it with stored power easy phantasm badge and shadow ball. i also decided to just go and beat morty, i have zero idea how he's supposed to even be possible on intense without just spamming an absurd amount of potions/ice creams or just a retarded amount of luck. not looking forward to chuck or clair, either. going to finish as much as i can before going to akuwa town

>nim beginning of awful shit. thought i would have an easy time because freya can get up to +4 spa and spd instantly in a psychic terrain. turns out lunatone is really fucking bulky and it, too, loves to calm mind, and solrock is really annoying too. i had to roar out lunatone with garm, sacrificing it, and had to sack vaan too before getting a very shaky win with smokescreen spam + kliffie.
>madelis actually very easy, other than her cinccino, who did not have skill link, so though it's rock blasts were boosted cliffie facetanked them all and the rest of my team cleaned the rest of hers.
>neved this battle was fucking terrible. despite it being a 6v12 with aelita as a partner, her team is dogshit and every single one of neved's pokemon is 4-7 levels above mine, because that's fair. while kliffie managed to clutch out this win as well, it really came down to some very convenient hax (his tentacruel got full para'd by ryuki multiple turns, froslass missed blizzard a lot, barbaracle missed rock slide a lot) and i still lost several team members, most notably freya which REALLY sucks
>melia also very painful, i had to grind up tlachtga and angela and yet still her pokemon were on crack, her togekiss survived a 252 atk poison gem poison jab from tlachtga the seviper for instance, nearly all of her pokemon had set up moves so kliffie had to work overtime yet again, by the end i was completely out of healing items with 2 more dead mons
and now i have to face previously probably the most brutal gym leader in the game, so that's nice too.
i've lost enough of my team to where i need a lot of grinding to get a lot of viable replacements, and losing so many members at once has been genuinely very draining, so i'm probably going to take a break for a day or two

Grenadine was able to get it down to about half, but not without taking serious damage. Mystique came in and finished it off. Charizard came in and I sent in Hedvika knowing full well an air slash could be bad. It was, knocking her down to below half and her waterfall didn't do quite enough. I risked switching in Grenadine hoping for a shadow claw or something, but another air slash took her from us. rip ;__;. Cahl was able to survive an air slash to take down charizard.
