I know the games aren’t prefect but Gen 5 has such great themes and lore that I want to talk about it.

>Truth: Pokémon and people bring about strength, adventure, and fulfilling companionship with one another. One can say they need each other to bring out their full respective potential. However, evil people will abuse and demean the tenets of being a trainer, and therefore true harmony between people and Pokémon will never exist despite the loving bond that can be fostered. Since this is TRUE, the world of Pokémon will never be IDEAL.

>Ideal: Pokémon and people are capable of harmonizing and utopia only by separation, human society and nature perfectly in balance. If there are no trainers, there can be no systemic abuse of the creatures of nature and no evil by the hands of trainers. However, since Pokémon and people need each other to bond and fulfill their respective potential to create said utopia, this truth can never be representative of an ideal situation.

Now flip it.

>Ideal: By bonding with Pokémon, people and Pokémon themselves can bring about each other's true potential. This involves taking them out of harsh nature and giving them happy lives of adventure and comfort. However, since the ideal world means everyone has to be kind and loving to Pokémon to foster, the truth is that true harmony can never be achieved through Pokémon training thanks to trainers looking to commit evil.

Truth: Separating people and Pokémon is the only way to foster true harmony. With people and Pokémon separated, evil men cannot rise up to abuse and demean Pokémon. Since the ideal world means that people and Pokémon max out their potential when they work together, the harsh truth of separation can not be necessarily ideal.
