A more realistic gimmick would be clothes for your Pokemon. Go has been doing it for a while and I'm surprised the mainline games haven't adopted this yet.

I've always thought fusion as a concept was more suited to breeding hybrids than the shit we have with kyurem/necrozma/likely calyrex. That being said GF couldn't even bother to get the remaining ~500 pokemon in swsh on release, I highly doubt they'd ever add even MORE models that would be required for this mechanic.

You know good and well the only way they would do this is if it was limited to 1 specific species. Kind of like how they made "moves you can combine"(pledges) and flying press, kyurem and necrozma etc
