I've been replaying Pokemon Red recently with the intent to catch all 151 and I'm remembering how enjoyable the first games were.

This is not a thread for gen wars and I am in no way trying to make a thread that says "Gen One is the only true pokemon game". I'm just feeling nostalgia for the days of sneaking your gameboy into school and trading friends to evolve pokemon and getting version exclusive. I have fond memories of being hunched over a Pokemon Walkthrough and feeling a sense of adventure when exploring the Powerplant the first time and seeing the darker and more menacing sprites that really felt monstrous.

So this is a thread for anyone who wants to talk about their experiences with the first generation, what they liked about them, and what they didn't like.
