It is. Should have been in the game instead of just being based on Pikachu. It would make a lot more sense if the species as a whole tried to mimic popular pokemon instead of them all trying to act like a Pikachu.

No, it isn't. Pikachu is the mascot of the fucking franchise. It's instantly recognizable what kind of concept it's trying to be by putting on bootleg Pikachu costume. The design just gets diluted with shit as soon as you start slapping shit like Eeveelutions or Lucario on it. Also Mimikyu's size and shape actually matches Pikachu while it doesn't most of the other Pokemon you're probably thinking of.

Depends. It seems, at best, neutral for players. Surely it'd be the same thing as Alchremie or Furfrou where it's all physical.

It would be great for Gamefreak though, I'm sure, because then they can slap it on even more merchandise to steal the SSI checks from autistic collectors.
