It’s safe to assume this is it for this game. However I did believe Zeraora would have been the final Pokémon but after all this my next best guest would be Obstagoon

Sadly, seems it didn't do well, so we'll probably never get another like it. It sure was a novel game, but it was put out to die on the Wii U and nobody knew what it was by the time it got the sloppy seconds switch port.

Releasing it for the Wii U was a mistake. Making it for the Switch from the start would have given it far better life.

Did it being on the Wii U really matter that much? There's plenty of Wii U ports on the Switch that have sold decently. I think the bigger issue is that if people want a fighting game on Switch, their first game of choice is going to be Smash.

They aimed to keep it simple and accessible to beginners, that's why the actual arcade cabinet has essentially an snes controller as its input instead of a regular arcade layout.
They did add a 3v3 mode to DX though, which is fun, structuring it like that makes it feel like 3v3 single battle match, just without any switching.
